Virgo (August21-September20)
Virgo is the only zodiacal sign represented by a female. She is woman in the fullness of self-possession--the high priestess, the healer, the keeper of life's mysteries.
Virgoans seek complete realization of the mind. They are logical, practical, and methodical. Their intellect subjugates their instincts. They have strong senses of order and organization and a love of the technological and the minute. They are also perfectionists. They want their environments, as well as their lives, to be tidy. They separate the wheat from the chaff. They plan sort, classify, and store. They are very organized. Virgoans are usually very serious people. They are rather aloof and repressed, even puritanical at times. Their real challenge is to expand their perspective beyond details, to see the underlying pattern of creation and to marvel at its abundance and diversity.
Both sexes have considerable charm and dignity. In marriage they can be genuinely affectionate, making good spouses and parents. However, they are demanding in their choice of partners. If they do not find precisely the right person, they will probably prefer to stay unattached. At times, Virgos are most at ease with a gentle devotion, and are often unwilling or unable to feel true passion. Passion seems to consist of surrendering themselves, and that they refuse to do, so they channel any energy that love gives them into their work, always searching for excellence.
Their faults, as is usual with all zodiacal types, are the extremes of their virtues. Virgoans are liable to indecision in many issues and this can become chronic, turning molehills out of minor difficulties. Another pitfall for all Virgoans is their tendency to rehearse for life, rather than to live it. As they see it, they are never prepared enough to take full advantage when an opportunity presents itself
Sagittarius (November21-December20)
Sagittarians are optimistic, they are full of zest, versatility, adventurousness and eagerness to extend experience beyond the physically familiar. They enjoy traveling and exploring new horizons. Their minds are constantly open to new dimensions of thought. They are basically ambitious and optimistic, and continue to be so even when their hopes are dashed. Their strongly idealistic natures can also suffer many disappointments without being affected. They are honorable, honest, trustworthy, truthful, generous and sincere, with a passion for justice. They are usually on the side of the underdog in society they will fight for any cause they believe to be just, and are prepared to be rebellious. They balance loyalty with independence.
Sagittarians are usually modest and are often religious, with a strong sense of morality, though they tend to overemphasize the ethical codes they follow and worship beliefs about God rather than God Himself. This means that, negatively, they regard rigid, unloving, intolerant adherence to ritual and conventional codes as more important than the truths they symbolize or embody.
They have both profound and widely ranging minds, equipped with foresight and good judgement, and they can be witty conversationalists.
Sagittarians are ardent, sincere and straightforward in love. But if they are thwarted, they may easily allow their failure to embitter their entire lives or they may revenge themselves upon the opposite sex by becoming cynically promiscuous.
